We are Joan and Harry Hartley.  Lifelong, loving married partners.  Someone said, “We were born married”.  We met while we were both working in banking in Winnipeg.  Joan thought Harry had money.  Harry thought Joan had money.  It turned out the money was someone else’s.

Our home is in Calgary, Alberta in Western Canada.  Calgary was the host city of the 1988 Winter Olympics and is the annual site of the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”, the Calgary Stampede.  Located an hour to the West of Calgary, in the Rocky Mountains, the Town of Banff is home to spectacular scenery, hiking, skiing and all varieties of activities.  Visit us; we would love to be your tour guides.

Over the years we raised a family of a son and a daughter. In 2005 our daughter gave us a very special granddaughter.

Our son, Michael (Mike to the world), has been a valued partner in our business ventures and our lives.

Our family was involved in some successful and fun business ventures.  The first was supplying and managing transportation for individuals and businesses large and small.  Then our hobby of sailing went out of control with sailboat (large and small) sales, sailboat charters and a sailing school in the Gulf Islands on Canada’s beautiful West Coast.  Now, we are failing at retirement and loving it.
